Age limits: Volunteers to work with or attend activities of this environmental group must be 18 or older unless they are accompanied by an adult.

Candidate Requirements:

• A desire to improve Long Island’s drinking water, air, open spaces, beaches, rivers, and all things related to them.

During school year:

Duties:

• Outdoor Activities
  • various volunteer leaders – contact Jane Fasullo as above to find out what opportunities we have and to be directed to an appropriate leader
  • Outdoor activities include beach cleanups, hikes and trail cleanups, bike rides, kayak outings, and more.
• Indoor Activites
  • Many non-outdoor activities exist too. To see what some of them are, visit the website and click on “calendar” on the right side of the home page. If you get a message that the page is not available, please try again later. Many of our activites are posted on that calendar. For further information about any one without a pre-posted contact number, call Jane as above.
  • Some of our indoor activities include helping to get the newsletter mailed out one night every three months (which includes free pizza and beverage); using computer graphics to create fliers, invitations, postcards, and other materials; and other computer work like researching information, tracking legislation, doing educational presentations at various places that ask for us to educate a group, etc.

Other: To be an on-call volunteer with the group, you can fill out an online volunteer form and submit it or contact Jane (see above) to have one sent to you.
