Candidate Requirements:

• Must have interview and attend orientation
• Proof of vaccination for measles and rubella; general good health
• Must commit to a minimum of 30 hours of volunteer time over a semester – a minimum of 2 hours per week for 15 weeks

During school year

• Weekdays: Yes
• Weekends: Yes (except Saturday afternoon)

• Weekends: Yes (except Saturday afternoon)

Duties:

• Interact with residents -- assist at:
  • Religious services of all denominations
  • Activities such as games, arts & crafts, bingo
  • Individual visits with residents
  • Adults in the day services center
  • Transporting residents
  • Includes working on nursing units, assisting residents and staff

Other:

• Evening programs on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:45 PM.
• Students assist residents at Bingo, help to transport to and from units, set up and clean up games, etc.
• Also interested in students who might wish to perform on a regular basis to play musical instruments during dinner hours.
