	From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler - by E.L. 	Today I Will Fly! - by Mo Willems [Grades K - 2] This book features two lovable and funny characters: an optimistic (and sometimes reckless) pig, and a cautious, pessimistic elephant.  In the book, Piggie is determined to fly, but Gerald the elephant knows that's impossible - right?
	Madeline - by Ludwig Bemelmans [Grades K - 2] In "an old house in Paris that was covered with vines," Miss Clavel oversees the education of 12 little girls, the littlest of whom is the mischievous Madeline.  Despite her size, nothing frightens Madeline-not tigers, not mice, not even getting sick. To Madeline, a trip to the hospital is a grand adventure.
	The Book That Jack Wrote - by Jon Scieszka [Grades 1 - 4] An updated version of "This Is the House That Jack Built," this cumulative tale tells of a blind rat who falls into a picture in the book that Jack wrote, thus setting off a chain of events in which the players are done in one by one until nothing is left but the book itself. The characters are borrowed largely from children's literature - a grinning Cheshire cat, a cow jumping over the moon, and Humpty Dumpty are a few familiar favorites.

	Heat - by Mike Lupica [Grades 5 and up] Thirteen year old Michael lives in the Bronx and has a tremendous gift as a little league pitcher. Unfortuntely, his gift comes with many critics who eventually ban him from the game that he loves. Read as Michael makes friends, dodges social services and overcomes disappointment.
	The City ABC Book - by Zoran Milich [Grades K and up] A terrific picture book for visualizing the ABC letters in real life photos of the city. Milich takes black and white photos of everyday city objects and highlights a letter in red in each. Letters are easy to distinguish and photos are great even for older children.
	No David! - by David Shannon [Grades PreK - 2] David's mom always says, No David!". Kids love reading about David and his misbehaving antics. Illustrations are laughable while promoting continuous and spontaneous language skills. Don't forget to check out some of David's other adventures!
