It is the mission of the Syosset Public Library to provide the residents of the Syosset School District with the broadest possible range of information resources as well as a variety of opportunities for cultural enrichment that enhances the quality-of-life of the community.

 

Goals and Objectives

  • We will strive to maintain an extensive reference collection, worldwide reliable electronic resources and an expert service-oriented staff.
  • We will strive to provide the newest and best reading materials as well as a strong collection of classic literature.
  • We will strive to make available noteworthy music, movie and other non-print items to meet the diverse needs and tastes of the community.
  • We will strive to have a variety of programs for children that are entertaining, educational and encourage a life-long love for reading and knowledge.  We will provide support for the excellent educational programs offered in our schools.
  • We will strive to have adult programming that is informational, instructive and entertaining. We will schedule exciting trips to concerts, theatre productions and other points of interest.
  • We will strive to have the library reflect the high standards of the Syosset-Woodbury Community, a quality collection and cultural and entertainment opportunities for all, in modern and comfortable surroundings.
